OwnCost is run by Fire2Freedom in Finland. Contact: support@fire2freedom.com.

What we collect

Nothing. The calculator runs entirely in your browser and the figures you type are not sent to us or to anyone else. There are no cookies, no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts, fonts or embedded content.

What stays on your device

To save you retyping, your entries are kept in your browser's local storage (one entry named owncost.state.v1). It never leaves your device. "Clear all" removes it, and so does clearing your browser's site data.

Our host

The site is delivered by Cloudflare. Like any web host, it processes technical request data such as your IP address to deliver the site and keep it secure, under its own privacy policy, and it may do so outside the EU/EEA. We do not receive this data in a form that identifies you.

Email and your rights

If you write to us, we use your address only to reply and then delete it. You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi). If anything here changes, for example if analytics or accounts are added, this page changes first.
